Kindergarten Signing Day

Did you know our PreK-4 students celebrated a big event? 

Every child wants to know one thing:

Do you see me?

At Divine Savior Academy's Kindergarten Signing Day, that's exactly what our PreK-4 students hear.

Each year, our PreK-4 students gather with their families, teachers, and school leaders to celebrate their readiness for kindergarten and the unique gifts God has given them.

The event begins with a personal conversation between each student and their teacher.

Rather than focusing only on academic growth, teachers share something even more important: the Divine Savior Academy core value that they see shining through in that child.

Whether it's Walking with God, Thriving Through Cooperation, Leading with a Servant’s Heart, Living Boldly and Confidently, or Practicing a Growth Mindset, students hear firsthand how they are already making an impact on those around them.

As families listen, they get a glimpse into something every parent hopes for: a teacher who truly cares for their child.

One parent shared afterward:

"Thank you for truly knowing our child and who they are."

Another simply said:

"I was crying during the whole thing."

Following this special recognition, Director Rachel Hoenecke speaks with each student about their growth throughout the year. Together, they reflect on all the things learned in PreK-4.

But among all the lessons, one stands above the rest.

The most important thing our students learn is about Jesus and His love for them.

Then comes the moment each child has been waiting for. Using a giant pencil, students proudly sign their Kindergarten Commitment Certificate, officially declaring they are ready for kindergarten.

To commemorate the occasion, each child receives a special "DSA Future Leader, Class of 2039" t-shirt featuring the names of their classmates. Families celebrate with photos, hugs, confetti, and plenty of excitement for the journey ahead.

While Kindergarten Signing Day marks the end of one chapter, it also marks the beginning of another.

These students are not just preparing for kindergarten. They are beginning a lifelong journey of growing in wisdom, character, faith, and leadership.

We are grateful for the partnership between families, teachers, and our school community that makes moments like these possible.

Most of all, we give thanks to God for each child He has entrusted to our care and for the opportunity to help them discover the unique purpose He has for their lives.
