DSA Doral Alumni Jose Febres

From the basketball court to the classroom, Jose’s years at DSA shaped the person and professional he is today. One of his favorite memories was basketball senior night, where the team faced off against their biggest rival, drawing a huge crowd of supporters. Basketball wasn’t just a sport for Jose. It was community, competition, and camaraderie, and it remains one of his most cherished high school memories.

While sports were always a central passion, Jose also discovered new interests at DSA. Classes like photography and keyboarding pushed him outside of his comfort zone and allowed him to explore his creativity. Although basketball took up much of his time, Jose was also active in the New Friends club and played a key role in broaching the idea of the Juniors vs. Seniors game. Surrounded by close friends and teachers who truly cared, Jose felt free to grow in confidence and faith, shaping the foundation he continues to build on today.

After graduating from high school, Jose pursued a degree in Sports Management at Florida International University. Today, he is living out his dream as a basketball coach and trainer, working with players of all levels—including NBA athletes. His career takes him across the country for tournaments and games, where he gets to see his hard work come to life. The schedule is demanding, but Jose thrives on the game and the opportunity to help athletes reach their full potential!

Outside of work, Jose values balance. He enjoys spending time with friends, barbecuing, and golfing with family. Spiritually, he carries with him the lessons learned at DSA, like finding God in everyday moments. Looking back, Jose is grateful for the way his experience at DSA fostered lifelong friendships and the confidence to follow a path that brings him joy and purpose.

Jose, we are so proud of the impact you are making through your passion!
