DSA Doral Alumni Daniel Martinez

Daniel's journey at Divine Savior Academy began in kindergarten and spanned his entire formative education, culminating with his graduation in 2019. Growing up at DSA meant being shaped not only academically, but also within a close-knit Christian community where teachers knew their students well and classmates felt like family. Some of Daniel's favorite memories include playing on the varsity tennis team during his senior year and participating in chess tournaments under the leadership of coach Gil Luna. He was especially fortunate to play tennis alongside his brothers during a successful season, a memory he holds close to this day.

After graduating from DSA, Daniel attended Loyola University Chicago, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He is currently a medical student at Nova Southeastern University, where his schedule is full and demanding. His academic focus includes cardiology and solid organ transplantation research. Beyond coursework, Daniel volunteers at a free clinic providing quality medical care to uninsured patients, offering both preventive services and treatment for more serious conditions, including cardiology support through EKG screenings. His work directly serves communities that might otherwise lack access to high-quality care.

A big part of Daniel’s life since DSA has been mentorship. He serves as a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami and through NSU, supporting undergraduate students as they navigate academic and professional paths. Daniel has also continued a family-run school supply initiative he began during his freshman year at DSA with his brothers. The non-profit collects unused materials from DSA students and redistributes them to communities in need, including locations in Miami, Haiti, and beyond. Even with a demanding schedule, Daniel continues to find time for tennis, staying active, and connecting with friends, all while investing deeply in the lives of others.

Daniel, we are proud of the way you continue to serve, lead, and mentor with purpose and compassion!
