The Silver Knight Award is one of the most prestigious student recognition programs in the country. It honors students who not only excel academically, but also use their talents to serve others in meaningful ways.

Nine seniors from our Doral Campus have been nominated for this incredible honor, and their stories reflect what it looks like to live out our core values.

Using Their Gifts with Purpose

Each student has a unique story. Some students are using their learning to make a direct impact beyond the classroom. Luis Cardenas has explored the business world across North and South America and presented ideas to leaders from global companies, shaping his desire to serve his community through business. In a different field, Amanda Acosta approaches journalism with a deep commitment to truth, writing with care and integrity to inform and serve others.

Others are using their gifts to support and uplift those around them. Fernanda Bergamaschi balances athletics and leadership while creating space for others through her mental health podcast. Isabella Aragon uses her passion for social science through leadership in Teen Court and Model UN, where she supports others and continues to grow as a future leader focused on making a lasting impact.

We also see students applying their academic interests in meaningful ways. Christian Castano has pushed himself through advanced math and engineering courses and created opportunities to teach others core concepts in computer science. Mathias Altamirano is using his knowledge of science and technology to develop tools, including an AI health app, designed to help people in practical ways.

Creativity and communication are also on full display. Elena Riviere uses writing to explore her experiences and help others feel seen and heard, even launching initiatives that expand access to books and storytelling. Maria Laura Naffah has developed fluency in multiple languages, using her skills to connect with people across cultures and communities.

Hands-on leadership is another common thread. Alejandra Cantor  has grown through hands-on projects and service initiatives, using her technical and leadership skills to organize efforts that support his community.

More Than Recognition

What connects them all is how they live out our core values. They walk with God, lead with a servant’s heart, and use their gifts to live boldly and confidently.

Recently, these students participated in interviews with a panel of judges and will be recognized alongside top students from across South Florida. Final results will be announced in May.

We are grateful for these students and give thanks to God for the way they represent our school.
