DSA Doral Alumni Elena Jensen

Elena joined DSA as an eighth grader after a cross-country move to Miami, stepping into a new community during the end of the school year. What could have been an intimidating transition quickly became a place of belonging. Elena grew in confidence and in her understanding of the gifts God had given her. She attributes this to her vast involvement in school life as well as meaningful relationships with teachers. From competing in track, cross country, and basketball to singing in choir, contributing to The Golden Legacy, and participating in drama and the National Honor Society, DSA gave her space to explore her interests while being fully supported.

Elena discovered a passion for teaching through the mentorship of her teachers and the Christ-centered foundation they modeled. After graduating in 2016, she attended Martin Luther College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Secondary English and Literature. When she entered her own classroom, Elena carried a deep conviction about the power of Christian education. Because she had experienced its impact firsthand, she was determined to provide her students with the same faith-filled guidance and academic excellence.

Today, Elena’s life has unfolded in a new direction, richly blessed by God. Now living in New Mexico, she is married to a pastor, actively involved in church ministry, and a full-time stay-at-home mom. Her passion for Christian education continues as she intentionally teaches her young son, instilling in him a love for Jesus as he grows. She joyfully embraces the gift of motherhood and often spends time outdoors with her little family, hiking and exploring the beautiful state they now call home.

Elena, we are so proud of how you live out your calling with confidence, love, and trust in God!
