DSA Doral Alumni Ashley Cabeza 2020

DSA was an integral part of Ashley's life. She is one of a growing number of students who can say they've been with DSA from kindergarten through 12th grade. During her time, Ashley devoted herself to track and field and cross-country, competing from middle school through high school. The close-knit community of DSA was always a comfort to her, helping her build strong relationships with classmates and teachers. She especially treasures the way her faith was deepened through her 12th grade theology class, which left a lasting impression on her. When graduation arrived in 2020 during COVID, Ashley, along with her fellow classmates and their families, gathered at the Trump National Doral parking lot to commemorate the graduates in a bumper-to-bumper car celebration. Even though it looked a little different, it was a highlight that she will never forget.

After graduating from DSA, Ashley went on to Baylor University, a decision that was deeply intentional. DSA had planted a desire to continue growing in a Christ-centered environment, and Baylor provided that opportunity. She graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies and went straight into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Duke University, where she is currently finishing her second year of coursework. Since 2022, she has also worked as a personal trainer, staying connected to movement and caring for others, even while navigating the demands of graduate school.

Today, Ashley's life is full of exciting transitions. She is preparing to begin her clinical rotations, including a full year working with adults and children with neurological conditions in outpatient settings. In June, she is getting married to her fiancé and heading to Texas to begin the next chapter alongside her husband as he starts medical school.
Ashley, we are so proud of your servant heart and wish you well in this new chapter of life!
